As our new Payroll Specialist you will be a key member of the Accounting and HR teams, working closely with the Controller and Human Resources to manage payroll, source deductions and perform a range of financial and administrative functions as directed. You will have the opportunity to develop your payroll management skills, elevating you to the next career level.

You’ll be responsible for timely and accurately processing of payroll for approximately 150 employees between Canada and U.S. on a semi-monthly basis. We're project-based, so we're always working with someone interesting, be it adidas, Facebook, Google, Oculus, Netflix, or Diageo.

The Real Opportunity!

  • +Process payroll through Ceridian on a semi-monthly basis

  • +Audit all new hire payroll documents to ensure the information is complete

  • +Calculate accurate amounts for parental leave top up, unused vacation days, final pay upon termination, referral bonuses, etc.

  • +Ensure T4s, W2s and other year-end documents are accurately filed

  • +Respond to employees regarding payroll inquiries, researching and troubleshooting any new regulations

  • +Prepare the month-end reports such as paid time off accruals and headcount

  • +Reconcile group insurance benefits, add new members, and update premiums

  • +Register and maintain the withholding and unemployment insurance filings with different states based on the employee locations

  • +Track budgets for individual employees (such as training and wellness budgets), internal committee, and departmental socials

  • +Support the Finance and HR teams with ad hoc projects, as needed
